About the Camp Directors
David Job
Back for his fifth season in charge of the Lady Vol pole vaulters is former University of Tennessee record-holder David Job. A native of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Job previously spent 12 years coaching high school vaulters throughout the Knoxville metropolitan area before lending his expertise to the Big Orange program in 2003.
The past six seasons have seen him develop school-record-setting athletes as well as SEC scorers and NCAA qualifiers. In 2004, sophomore Jessica Reust took that a step further, blossoming into the school's top vaulter outdoors, winning the SEC Outdoor title and advancing to the NCAA Championship meet in June.
In only her second year at UT, Reust carded the best-ever clearance outdoors by a Tennessee woman, sailing over 13-3.50 to claim the SEC crown in May 2004 and become the third Lady Vol to win that event outdoors since 1998. She increased the standard to 13-7.75 in 2006 in a third-place effort at the SEC Outdoor Championships. Reust stands at number two on the Lady Vols' career indoor performers list, with a third-place outcome of 13-1 at the 2005 SEC Indoor Championships.
Jim Bemiller
Jim began his coaching career as an assistant football and track coach in Mansfield Ohio at Malabar High School. He then coached the pole vault at The University of Tennessee from 1986-2005. He is the coach of the 2004 Olympic champion in the pole vault, Timothy Mack, and has coached athletes in the pole vault who have won 5 NCAA Championships, 15 Southeastern Conference Championships, 28 All America Certificates, and hold the SEC, NCAA, World Athletic Final and Olympic records. Tennessee alumni also hold the meet records in the pole vault at the Penn Relays, Mt. Sac Relays and Sea Ray Relays. UT Alumni have won the last three U.S. Olympic Trials, the gold medal in the Athens Olympic Games and the silver medal in the Sydney Olympic Games.
