July 1, 2009 - Knoxville, TN. - The East Tennessee Heart Consultants / KTC Summer Track and Field Program has just wraped up its 44th summer of fun - fitness and finish lines. Over 1,000 kids experienced the four week developemental track and field program. Thanks for participating and we look forward to seeing you in the fall for our next KTC Youth Athletics Program. For those participants that were not able to pick up thier program t-shirt at your practice site they will be available at the Runners Market (Western Plaza Shopping Center - 588-1650) starting July 4,2009.

4/14/09 - Knoxville, TN - The 2009 Volunteer Track Classic gets underway 4/17 at UT's Tom Black Track. A first for this year the VTC will see college women's competition take place during the high school competition with the Lady Vols sections. With over 2000 athletes expected to compete in the 2 day event - the VTC is the largest track and field event held on Tom Black Track in 2009. For more information click the logo below:

3/14/09 - 3/15/09 - Boston, MA KTC takes its largest team ever to the Nike Indoor National Track and Filed Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA. KTC will be represented by 11 area athletes in the best high school track and field meet in the nation. Saturday started with a bang as three KTC athletes took to the track with great results. Maryville HS's Julia Petree placed 15th in the 400 running an indoor PR of 58.03 and followed it up shortly thereafter with a 25.57 - 200, near her seasons best. In only his first season of triple jumping Oak Ridge HS's JaDon Short equaled his PR of 45' 5" placing 11th. The best of the first day was saved for last as Webb school freshman Marjorie Butler crushed the final event of the pentathlon (800m run) to go from 12th to 6th earning her All-American honors. On day two kTC'ers hit the track with 4 top 15 finishes - Jadon Short 11th in the Triple Jump, Jordan Chaney 11th in the 800, Clint McKelvey - 8th in the 3200 and Matt Sonnenfeldlt 12th in the 3200. Way to go KTC.

| 2/28/09 - Maysville, KY - KTC Youth Athletes ventured to Mason Co HS for the second time this indoor season with similar results. Mason Co meet #2 proved to be much larger than the first yet KTC athletes once again were at the top of results lists notching three wins led again by a stellar performance by Tamara Hundley winning the 55 and 400 dashes. Her 55 winning time would have won the High School 55. Watch out for Hundley as she turns her sights to outdoor track. |
